7. Use of Facebook social plugins

Our internet presence uses social media social plugins at facebook.com operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). These plugins can be recognised by the Facebook logo (white “f” on blue tile or a “thumbs up” sign) or are specially marked “Facebook social plugin”.

A list and the appearance of Facebook social plugins can be viewed here: http://developers.facebook.com/plugins.

If you visit our internet presence website containing a plugin of this nature, your browser creates a direct link to the Facebook servers. Facebook then passes the content of the plugin directly to your browser and embeds it in the website.

We therefore have no influence over the scope of the data Facebook collects with this plugin, and so you should make yourself aware of our latest understanding of the current knowledge: by embedding the plugin, Facebook receives information that you have visited the corresponding page of our website. If you are logged in to Facebook, they can allocate the visit to your Facebook account. If you interact with the plugins, for instance by clicking the “like” button or leaving a comment, your browser communicates the corresponding information direct to Facebook and saves it there.

Even if you are not a Facebook member, there is still a possibility that Facebook becomes aware of your IP address and saves it.

The purpose and scope of data collection, further processing and use thereof by Facebook, your rights in this connection and possible settings to protect your privacy can be viewed in the Facebook data protection notices at: http://www.facebook.com/policy.php. If you are a Facebook member, but do not wish Facebook to use our website to collect data on you for linking to your data saved on Facebook, you have to log out of Facebook before visiting our website.
